Position Details:
Location: Rye Brook, NY
Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 10:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct all technical procedures related to grossing using various laboratory materials and equipment.
- Ensure the integrity of specimens upon arrival and throughout the entire processing phase.
- Document a gross description for each specimen, detailing anatomical site, size, color, weight, dimensions, count, volume, cut techniques, abnormal findings, and prepare tissue for cassettes.
- Refer complex specimens to a Grossing Tech II, Supervisor, or Pathologist as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Prepare dissected tissue specimens and place them into cassettes.
- Implement Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures.
- Label requisitions, specimen containers, and cassettes as needed.
- Oversee laboratory equipment maintenance and track routine maintenance and quality controls performed.
- Operate, clean, and sterilize laboratory equipment, glassware, instruments, and workstations.
- Dispose of hazardous chemical wastes in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
- Adhere to all applicable State, Federal, and professional regulations, as well as company policies and procedural manuals.
Qualifications:
- Completion of one of the following: Associate's degree in biology or chemistry or successful completion of a NAACLS accredited histotechnology program or Associate's degree with 12 semester hours of biology or chemistry.
- Possession of a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist/Technician or Histological Technician license.

Additional Information:
This position involves routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI). Employees will receive training on reasonable safeguards and are expected to maintain strict confidentiality, complying with all relevant privacy and security standards. Salary starting at $45.00 per hour, with compensation based on experience; geographic differentials may apply.
