Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our Sports Medicine team at Bon Secours. As an Athletic Trainer, you will provide patient care services under the direction and supervision of a physician in a clinical and/or school team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide age-appropriate therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a physician.
  • Evaluate and assess patient response to therapeutic interventions.
  • Document patient care rendered, including the patient's response to treatment and clinical evidence supporting a continuing need for treatment.
  • Provide patient and family education on treatments and modalities to assist patients in achieving functional independence.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists to develop methods for providing education to patients and families.
  • Participate in sporting event coverage under the supervision of the medical director.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with clinical team members to provide athletic training services and support for physicians and other clinical/ancillary staff within an outreach, primary care sports medicine and/or orthopedic clinical setting.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CAATE-accredited athletic training program and must hold BOC certification, and a current license to practice as an athletic trainer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Education/experience in working with school-age, adolescent, and adult populations is necessary; education/experience in a physician office or rehabilitation setting is desirable.
