About the Role:

The Maintenance Tech I is a key member of our Plant Operations Department, responsible for maintaining all aspects of our physical plant. Under supervisor direction, this individual performs preventive maintenance, routine servicing, seasonal repairs and changes, building equipment and plumbing repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance duties, including fixing wall covers, floor covers, and some furniture and fixtures.
  • Conduct plumbing work, minor electrical repair, appliance repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Complete apartment turnovers, including minor repairs, touch-up painting, and restoring apartments to their original condition.
  • Perform regular pool, koi pond, and lake/water feature maintenance.
  • Assist residents with hanging pictures, changing light bulbs in high locations, changing thermostat settings, and other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Technical schooling and/or training preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of previous work experience with electrical, plumbing, and painting in a complex commercial, industrial, or healthcare setting.
  • Basic experience in logical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools and machines to discharge duties.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
