Salary and Benefits

Job Description

Role: Associate Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Associate Therapist to support and promote our mission, providing treatment to clients and their families. As an Associate Therapist, you will carry a caseload of 4-6 clients, conducting individual, conjoint, family, and group therapy sessions, as well as art therapy, sexual abuse treatment, abuse treatment, crisis intervention, and aftercare. You will also conduct group therapy as needed based on your case load and the program schedule.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct individual, group, and family counseling sessions to discuss effective coping skills and help clients identify the reasons for their addiction and overcome related problems.

  2. Perform client psychosocial assessments, develop and monitor individualized treatment plans, complete the client intake process, and resolve any pertinent issues.

  3. Collaborate with the treatment team, comprised of clinical staff, including the clinical director, program director, and counselors.

  4. Identify patients' negative behaviors by asking personal questions and monitoring their actions.

  5. Assist residents in living more effectively with their addictions by identifying harmful behaviors and overcoming urges.

  6. Demonstrate patient care through charting and documenting resident progress and provide service referrals when needed.

  7. Review patient analysis, random drug tests, and facilitate therapy sessions.

  8. Maintain professional relationships with staff, clients, families, and visitors.

  9. Perform other duties as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Master's degree from an accredited social work, marriage and family therapy, or clinical counseling psychology program.
  • Registration with the State of California Board of Behavioral Health as a registered associate with a valid CA BBS number.
  • Experience working with addiction, preferably in an addiction treatment center or with military veterans.
  • Able to maintain a professional manner with staff, clients, and visitors.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced setting, under pressure, and maintain open and proper communication.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of an organization.
  • Ability to relate harmoniously with staff and clients of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.
  • Experience in providing direct services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Good computer skills, able to navigate an Electronic Health Records System, and KIPU experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and strong boundaries with clients.
Estimated Salary

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Hiring Requirements
  1. TB test completion, clearance on a drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
  2. Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
