Job Title: Licensed Addiction Counselor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Addiction Counselor to join our team at Family Service and Guidance Center Topeka. As a key member of our Substance Use Program, you will provide individual, family, and group counseling services to youth and their families, working to support their recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete SUD assessments and develop treatment plans for referred clients
  • Provide counseling services to youth and their families, addressing substance use disorders and related mental health issues
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and agency developments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in human services or a related field
  • Current licensure as an Addiction Counselor (LAC) or LMAC in the state of Kansas
  • Experience working with youth and families, preferably in a substance use disorder treatment setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment:

This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work in a community-based setting, with frequent interruptions and potential exposure to aggressive or acting-out behavior. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are also required.
