Barback, Lumiere

As a Barback at Fairmont Century Plaza, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our guests. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the bartenders with all aspects of service, ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare beverages for guests and servers, following recipes and guidelines for preparation, presentation, and accountability in a cost-efficient manner.
• Ensure compliance with all liquor laws in the preparation, serving, and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
• Assist the bartenders with all steps of service, prioritizing the guest experience and being proactive in supporting colleagues.
• Work directly with the prep team and the kitchen to ensure the bar is prepared to service standards and stocked and broken down for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar prep area and bar, controlling costs and waste.
• Maintain knowledge of menu and food preparation techniques.
• Be proficient with all aspects and services of the property and familiar with all food outlets and amenities within the property, as well as general city information and hotel history.
• Run food to tables and guests when necessary and clear excess dishes on tables to maintain a clean and orderly appearance, including any and all trash, dirty dishes, and glassware, IRD carts, or similar from public spaces.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in customer service and experience as a barback in a high-volume luxury environment is required.
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team and independently, with the ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
