Job Summary

This position performs phlebotomy (venipunctures), works/travels at off-site locations, and provides customer service functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Greets customers promptly and assists patients with special needs.
  • Accurately identifies patient, performs registration and order entry, and obtains necessary consents and signatures.
  • Communicates process to patient and collects specimens from patient for subsequent analysis.
  • Delivers samples to the laboratory and logs specimens into Lab using LIS.
  • Communicates well with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service and appropriate follow-up.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • CT Driver's license required.
Working Conditions

This position requires significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity. Some occupational risk is involved, and the physical effort is medium to heavy, exerting up to 35 lbs. force. Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
