Job Summary

The Superintendent / Quality Control Manager (QCM) is a critical role that oversees both on-site construction activities and ensures adherence to quality standards. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Direct field personnel to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain daily communication with the project manager to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain the construction schedule, identifying and resolving issues as needed.
  • Ensure accurate as-built drawings and timely requests for information.
  • Review subcontractors' Schedule of Values for percentage completion and Pay Applications.
  • Coordinate and negotiate subcontractor change order pricing.
  • Implement US Army Corps of Engineers' Quality Control Requirements and reporting procedures.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years as a working Superintendent or construction Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO).
  • Experience working on construction projects with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and/or the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and Primavera scheduling software.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • CPR and First Aid trained.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
Working Environment

The majority of the work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings, involving interaction with individuals of diverse functions, personalities, and abilities.

Physical Demands

An individual will be required to perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and repeat motions.

Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects is required.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small defects or small parts, operation of machines (including inspection), using measurement devices, and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
