Job Summary:
We are seeking an onsite Per-Diem Insurance Eligibility Specialist who will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations across multiple facilities in the region. Key duties include updating systems according to departmental standards, notifying case management of insurance changes, and communicating effectively with internal departments and external parties.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensure system updates align with departmental standards
• Provide timely notifications to case management regarding insurance changes and requests for clinical information
• Communicate effectively with internal departments, physician offices, health plans, medical groups, patients, and teammates
• Calculate patient liability for hospital admissions and pre-scheduled procedures, forwarding estimates to Financial Counselors for collection
• Support PAS, PAC, and Centralized Scheduling Leadership teams

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in patient registration and/or insurance verification in a healthcare setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to complete insurance verification functions for Inpatient/Observation admissions and pre-scheduled procedures
• Knowledge of general office equipment, computers, and associated software packages
• Medical Terminology skills
• CHAA Certification preferred
• Current CA Driver's License required
