Shift Information

Position: Housekeeper

Schedule: Monday to Friday; every other weekend required

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, laundry, carpet shampooing, bathroom scrubbing, counter cleaning, trash disposal, and window washing. Additional duties involve restocking common areas and resident rooms with necessary supplies such as paper products and hand soap.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Housekeeping Duties
  • Adhere to a detailed cleaning checklist for each room and communal area.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents in appropriate containers.
  • Utilize chemical cleaners and equipment properly to avoid damage to surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness of community areas and resident rooms through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
  • Perform steam cleaning or carpet shampooing as needed.
  • Dust and clean furniture, walls, machines, and equipment, including moving furniture when necessary.
  • Wash windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning methods.
  • Adjust heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including filter changes.
  • Collect and dispose of trash efficiently.
  • Clear debris from outdoor areas, including porches and parking lots.
  • Ensure all bathrooms are stocked with essential supplies.
  • Replace light bulbs throughout the facility.
  • Ensure that suites with two residents are cleaned bi-weekly.
  • Document and report any maintenance needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Housekeeper
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a related role.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge of infection control practices.
  • Ability to multitask and manage stress effectively.
  • Understanding of the assisted living philosophy.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
