Job Title: Cross Domain Linux System Engineer

ASRC Federal Network Technologies is seeking a highly skilled System Engineer with expertise in Linux and cross domain solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and gain valuable experience in proprietary cross domain technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop systems in a team-oriented environment
  • Develop and integrate information sharing applications and services using leading-edge technologies and cross domain solutions
  • Collaborate with other systems and software engineering team members to document requirements and architect solutions
  • Work with project managers, external stakeholders, and other team members to plan and coordinate cross domain implementation activities
  • Deploy solutions to various DISA Core Data Centers around the world, including planning, installation, configuration, testing, external integration, and transition to operations
  • Assist in troubleshooting and debugging operational issues impacting deployment capabilities
  • Follow engineering best practices and customer processes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline, or additional experience in lieu of a degree
  • Seven (7) years or more of work experience in a relevant, technical role
  • Security+ and/or CISSP Certification
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing Linux or Unix operating systems, preferably RHEL 5 or greater, and scripting languages to automate recurring tasks
  • Experience using VMware, VSphere, or other virtualization technologies is a plus
  • Exposure to software and system testing/QA, including writing system test plans, test cases, test reports, and executing system tests
  • Experience maintaining information systems configuration management
  • Desire to learn cross domain solutions, particularly those listed on the NCDSMO baseline list
  • Experience leading installations of hardware and software to remote locations
  • Experience delivering DoD information system solutions under NIST RMF is a plus
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and ability to troubleshoot basic networking issues
  • Willingness to travel to domestic and international locations
  • Ability to work on-site 3 days a week at the Ft. Meade, MD location

  • Ability to find innovative ways to solve problems
  • Experience creating system documentation in Visio, Excel, and Word
  • Experience interfacing with external stakeholders and performing integration efforts, including establishing network connectivity, user authentication, and data transfer
  • Thorough knowledge of common transfer protocols such as SFTP, SCP, and HTTPS
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills, result-oriented, and self-motivated
