Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill a Linux-focused role, with responsibilities spanning system administration, application engineering, DevOps, and systems engineering. The ideal candidate will manage and maintain Linux systems, support application development, and optimize DevOps processes in a secure, high-performance environment. This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Full-Scope Poly, and offers the opportunity to work on critical projects at Ft. Meade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Linux systems, ensuring system integrity, security, and performance
  • Develop and support applications in Linux environments, focusing on automation and optimization
  • Implement and maintain DevOps pipelines for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment
  • Perform system monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting for high availability and scalability
  • Support virtualized environments and cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance and efficiency
  • Maintain compliance with security protocols and standards, ensuring systems are hardened and secure

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Linux system administration, DevOps, or application engineering
  • Strong proficiency with Linux-based systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Chef)
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Docker
  • Proficient in shell scripting (Bash, Python) for automation tasks
  • Knowledge of networking, security hardening, and monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix)
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar) and virtualization (VMware, KVM)
  • Strong understanding of security policies and compliance standards (STIGs, DISA)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in government or DoD environments
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • AWS or Azure certifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field required
