Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Blood Bank Supervisor to join our team in Valhalla, NY. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Blood Bank, ensuring the accuracy and validity of test results, and coordinating staff, materials, and equipment needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and train Blood Bank staff, including authorizing overtime as needed to ensure efficient workflow and adequate coverage.
- Oversee the scheduling of staff and ensure appropriate coverage of the Blood Bank 24/7.
- Ensure compliance with AABB, FDA, CAP, DNV, and Department of Health Standards for blood according to usage and projected need.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures for the Blood Bank.
- Monitor supplies of reagents and lab supplies to ensure adequacy at all times.
- Perform periodic quality control checks on equipment and review daily quality control performed by others.
- Actively participate in in-service education of staff and assist in the training and orientation of new employees and clinical students.
Requirements:
- Minimum of six (6) years' experience as a licensed NYS clinical laboratory technologist required.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related degree required.
- Licensed by New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
Compensation:
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $125,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
