  • Monitoring application health and addressing alerts related to service outages, backup failures, and performance issues.
  • Collaborating with application stakeholders and software developers to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Planning and executing projects that involve the installation of new custom applications, integrating web services, and implementing load balancing and advanced web application firewalls.
  • Automating routine processes and developing self-service capabilities to enable developers and application owners to manage tasks such as renewing TLS certificates and rebooting servers.
  • Researching and proposing innovative hosting solutions to modernize client environments and improve delivery timelines.
  • Documenting administrative processes and configurations related to client applications.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems, particularly RedHat/RHEL versions 7.x/8.x/9.x, and demonstrate proficiency in deploying LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) applications, as well as supporting variants like Tomcat, Java, Python, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL.

Essential Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.x/8.x & 9.x, including troubleshooting complex issues and implementing security best practices.
  • Experience managing applications with hardware load balancing.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing TLS certificates for web servers such as Tomcat, Apache, or nginx.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting MySQL, MariaDB, and PostgreSQL databases.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in designing and implementing technologies in accordance with NIST standards.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or Ruby.
  • Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines for deploying infrastructure and applications using tools like GoCD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience in transitioning monolithic applications to microservices and Docker containers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with access and authentication technologies, including LDAP, SimpleSAML, or Kerberos.
  • Experience managing EC2 instances and troubleshooting applications on AWS.
  • Knowledge of layer 3 networking technologies.
  • Understanding of enterprise storage protocols.
  • Experience with content management systems such as Drupal or Moodle on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
