Job Summary

The Director of Dining Services is a strategic business leader responsible for overseeing the food and beverage/culinary operation in a community setting. The successful candidate will ensure resident and client satisfaction by providing a consistently high-quality product and exceptional hospitality, while meeting financial goals and driving a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement overall operating strategy aligned with Compass Community Living's business strategy.
  • Lead the development and implementation of departmental strategies to ensure resident and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the food and beverage operation, including menu planning, inventory management, and food safety protocols.
  • Manage a team of food service professionals, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and resident satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in food service delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years of direct foodservice operational management experience, with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control.
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and email.
