Job Summary:

A Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing quality patient care by assisting physicians with clinic-specific tasks, including rooming, vital signs, injections, and point-of-care testing and treatment.

This full-time position reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Clinic Operations and is located in Milwaukee, WI.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to exam rooms as scheduled, complete brief histories through documentation, and obtain accurate vital signs.
  • Stay current on electronic health records (EHR) changes and ensure effective documentation in patient records.
  • Provide excellent and timely care for patients, manage phone calls and messages efficiently, and check EHR and email regularly.
  • Organize and prepare exam rooms, maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
  • Administer routine medications, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, and topical agents.
  • Provide basic patient education, refill medications, and obtain prior authorizations according to MD protocols or as directed by physicians.
  • Schedule appointments as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military equivalent, or demonstrated skills in capacity for at least one year
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
