About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team in Lombard, Illinois.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform computed tomography procedures using General Electric Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 Computerized Tomography Systems according to established operating procedures, clinical protocols, and imaging techniques.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of inpatients and outpatients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel.
  • Perform Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment performance.
  • Obtain patient history and other relevant clinical information; document all patient information on appropriate forms in preparation for review and dictation by a radiologist.
  • Start IVs using appropriate technique, prepare and administer contrast material, and monitor patient condition during the CT procedure.
Requirements
  • 12-24 months experience in radiology - Graduate of Radiologic Technology program -2 hours of stroke education/year
  • Knowledge and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures - Able to perform all routine CT procedures - Good oral & written communication skills - Computer competent
  • ARRT Registry (RT) - IDNS License - CPR - IV Certification within 3 months of date of hire CT Registration within 6 months of date of hire
Working Conditions
  • Able to respond to request to work on short notice - Flexible in starting times to meet demand - As required, must be able to transport, move, and lift patients - May require rotating shifts and alternate days - Exposed to infectious diseases - Must take call - Willing to work overtime when requested - Musculoskeletal hazard from large amount of job lifting - Musculoskeletal hazard from repetitive motions
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
