Role Summary:
Administers anesthesia to patients undergoing various surgical, medical, obstetric, diagnostic, psychiatric, or resuscitative procedures, utilizing general, regional, or monitored anesthesia techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts thorough pre-operative assessments of patients, including detailed history and physical examinations, formulation of anesthesia care plans, documentation of evaluations, and clear communication of care, risks, and benefits to patients and their families. Ensures compliance with departmental quality standards regarding efficiency and performance metrics.
- Engages in ongoing professional development through continuing education and participation in institutional committees, while also contributing to the educational growth of fellow healthcare professionals.
- Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement, implementing strategies to improve patient outcomes, and assisting in data collection for performance evaluations.
- Maintains accurate and legible anesthesia records, including Impact Care reports and other essential documentation.
- Administers anesthesia safely, following established protocols, ensuring a secure environment for patients, and adjusting care as necessary while communicating effectively with the healthcare team.
Additional Information
Educational Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program recognized by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
Licensure and Certification:
Must hold a valid license as an Advanced Practice Provider (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the relevant state, with board certification as mandated by the department.
Experience Requirements:
No prior experience is necessary.
