Job Summary

The Respiratory Practitioner II PRN is a vital member of the patient care team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care. This role requires a strong foundation in respiratory therapy, with a focus on diagnostic testing, therapeutic procedures, and patient monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient response to therapy and notify providers as necessary.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
  • NBRC accredited RRT credential or CRT if grandfathered in.
  • Current Colorado Respiratory License.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • ACLS certifications through AHA or ARC required.
  • PALS and NRP certifications preferred.
  • Graduate of AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapist Program.
  • 6 months of previous experience.
