Group 1 Automotive is a prominent player in the automotive retail sector, and we are seeking a qualified COLLISION BODY REPAIR TECHNICIAN to enhance our operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Executing vehicle repairs according to estimates and adhering to manufacturer specifications.
  • Verifying parts against estimates and ensuring accurate orders and deliveries.
  • Preparing vehicles for body repair tasks.
  • Alerting management about any additional repairs required and documenting necessary parts and labor for satisfactory repairs.
  • Communicating any challenges that may hinder quality work or alter promised timelines.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and utilizing personal protective equipment as recommended.
  • Adhering to all regulations regarding hazardous materials and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Collaborating with team members in vehicle repair and preparation processes.
  • Staying informed about and complying with federal, state, and local regulations affecting body shop operations.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management.
  • Upholding the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, colleagues, and vendors.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience as a collision repair technician, particularly in heavy structural collision and frame work.
  • ICAR or ASE certifications in auto body repair, painting, and estimating are advantageous.
  • Vocational School certification in Collision Repair is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of vehicle repair processes, including body work and the decision-making process for part replacement versus repair.
  • Ability to interpret and follow repair and estimate orders accurately.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
