Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for performing admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks
  • Provide proper patient instructions and collect insurance information
  • Receive and process physician orders and utilize an overlay tool to ensure accurate data entry
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in interactions with patients and colleagues
Additional Responsibilities
  • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected
  • Conduct audits of accounts and ensure all forms are completed accurately and timely
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic and insurance information
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients and obtain necessary signatures
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes
Requirements
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) and/or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification
  • 2-3 years of experience in patient access or a leadership role
  • Comprehensive knowledge of revenue cycle, including admission, billing, payments, and denials
  • Understanding of patient insurance processes and health insurance requirements
