Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At Caring Health Center, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will assist in providing high-quality patient care, triage patient calls, prepare patients for clinic visits, and assist in medical procedures, patient education, health screenings, and general clinic maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Triage and/or return patient calls in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Take and record vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and prepare patients for provider visits.
  • Perform tympanometry, cardiography, and other tests as needed.
  • Assist in laboratory functions and clinic maintenance.
  • Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and stock inventory.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as ordered.
  • Provide assistance to health center staff in interpretation during interviews, visits, and phone contacts, if bilingual.
  • Assist in patient education and health surveys.
  • Participate in health center outreach committees and community activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all health center information.
Requirements:
  • Unrestricted License in Massachusetts as Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, individuals seeking assistance, representatives of outside agencies, and the general public.
  • Professional, reliable behavior and appearance.
  • Preference for at least one year of previous clinical experience.
  • Preference for bilingual individual: Spanish, Russian, or Vietnamese.
  • Preference for Certification in Family Practice, Adult, or Pediatric.

This position requires the ability to remain seated for long periods of time at a computer workstation, viewing a CRT and operating a keyboard. From time to time, this position requires the ability to work long and arduous hours.
