Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Gable Search Group. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the independent assembly, commissioning, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of systems, both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications to obtain customer acceptance.
  • Support the project team in ensuring all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items are cleared and signed-off as per project requirements.
  • Participate in project and construction meetings, as required.
  • Provide direct technical support of customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment, onsite and remotely.
  • Repair equipment installed onsite at customer facilities, both warranty and non-warranty claims.
  • Carry out routine inspections of existing system installations.
Requirements
  • 5 years in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility.
  • Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree.
  • Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestic and international travel).
  • Ability to write trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports.
  • Knowledge of PLCs highly preferred.
  • Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics.
  • Must be able to work in a Windows environment and be proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the use of PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required.
  • Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) experience are highly preferred.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States).
