About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team in Newark, DE. As a full-time employee, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting industrial HVAC & utility system design projects, collaborate with a talented team, and develop your skills and expertise in mechanical engineering.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing and sizing mechanical utility & HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, and VRF systems.
  • Performing engineering calculations, such as HVAC load & ventilation air calculations, psychometrics, pipe flow/pressure drop, ductwork sizing, and hydraulic analysis.
  • Developing building energy models and utilizing building load calculation software (e.g., Trane Trace).
  • Applying knowledge of relevant MEP industry codes & standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ICC Codes, NFPA, SMACNA).
  • Writing equipment & project specifications and interacting with internal team members and external stakeholders.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and technical guidance to other Engineers and Designers in the MEP group.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong background in HVAC system design, building load calculations, and energy modeling.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools like AutoCAD, Microstation, and Revit.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, air handlers, chillers, pumps, fans, cooling towers, compressors, dryers, boilers, load calculations, flow, ductwork, and BIM.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desired.
