About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Healthcare SQL Developer to join our team at Optum. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools
  • Work with business analysts and SMEs to ensure that complex processes and calculations are implemented and maintained across multiple clients
  • Lead technology decisions, drive product implementation, and delivery
  • Troubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and determine solutions as required
Requirements
  • 8+ years of data engineering work experience in development, design, test, and implementation of complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools within a distributed, service-based enterprise environment
  • 8+ years of experience writing complex queries in Oracle PL/SQL
  • Proficiency in database design, querying, optimization, and troubleshooting with any of the following RDBMS: Oracle, SQL Server, and/or Teradata
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, practices, and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Airflow
  • Practical experience of developing solutions hosting within key major cloud providers such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure
  • Experience working with Snowflake
  • Experience developing optimized data models for Viz tool E.g. Tableau, and PowerBI
