Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologist to join our team at Crystal Clinic. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory procedures under supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently receives and performs routine and high complexity laboratory analyses on clinical specimens, quality controls, and proficiency testing specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory.
  • Properly utilizes Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) to manage and track laboratory results.
  • Communicates critical results to physicians, nursing units, and/or other authorized personnel.
  • Works cooperatively with reference laboratories, couriers, and other departments within our system.
  • Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods as needed.
  • Operates, calibrates, checks, and maintains instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Recognizes problems with quality control and test procedures and takes appropriate action to ensure quality clinical information.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
  • Receives and processes specimens for send-outs to reference laboratories.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field, such as Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, or Clinical Laboratory Science.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow detailed laboratory procedures, protocols, and instructions.
  • Minimum of 12 continuing education credits required to be completed each calendar year for continued employment.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) from American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, working 32 hours per week, with a rotating Saturday schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
