Job Title: VDI Infrastructure Engineer

At Refactor Talent, we're seeking a highly skilled VDI Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining virtual desktop delivery platforms that meet the needs of our business and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and build scalable virtual desktop infrastructures in private and public cloud environments.
  • Administer and manage Horizon View desktop pools, application pools, and user entitlements.
  • Provide advanced Tier 3 support for complex VDI issues, coordinating with vendors when necessary.
  • Provision and configure Horizon, Unified Access Gateway (UAG), connection servers, and end-user VDI desktop images.
  • Assist in patching and vulnerability remediation processes.
  • Maintain documentation and stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technology trends.
  • Oversee basic server hardware and storage solutions powering the VDI infrastructure.
  • Participate in application integration design sessions.
Requirements:
  • VMWare/Omnissa Horizon experience: Expertise in building and maintaining VDI environments.
  • Windows Desktop/Operating System experience: Skilled in tuning Windows OS for VDI performance.
  • Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with Omnissa/VMWare Horizon in Azure environments.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with vCenter and vSphere ESXi.
  • Knowledge of scripting/coding automation tools (e.g., PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Experience with Azure cloud environments and Horizon Control Plane 2.0.
  • MySQL/MSSQL experience is a plus.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical abilities to optimize and troubleshoot system performance in desktop environments.
Education/Certifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
