The position of Windows Server Systems Engineer focuses on providing essential support to the Active Directory Team, particularly in relation to IPv6 initiatives. The selected candidate will oversee all integration activities concerning IPv6 for the Windows Server team, which includes facilitating IPv6 testing, design, implementation, and integration with Windows Active Directory, MS ADFS, and Domain Controllers.

This role involves collaboration with a team of server engineers to diagnose and resolve issues across various systems located in multiple data centers. Responsibilities include delivering support, implementation, and design services for Windows-based systems throughout the organization. The candidate will be tasked with completing assigned duties and change requests, serving as an escalation point for support challenges.

Moreover, the candidate will engage in research and collaboration with team members to introduce new solutions and provide guidance on actions for new application projects.

Key Requirements:

  • In-depth expertise in Windows OS-based devices and managing Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and security protocols.
  • Proficient understanding of Active Directory, Multi-factor Authentication, Public Key Infrastructure, and identity and access management.
  • Intermediate scripting experience in PowerShell for task automation.
  • Experience with dual-stack implementation of IPv4 and IPv6, including the deployment and management of IPv6-only environments.
  • Familiarity with dual-stack and IPv6-only testing for Windows Servers, Domain Controllers, SCCM, and other Windows systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot IPv6 authentication issues related to VPN.
  • Experience resolving replication and service challenges within an MPLS-hybrid environment.
  • Experience in federal government enterprise settings and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing Active Directory for both on-premises and cloud environments through MS ADFS, Azure, and AWS.
  • Experience with hardware and software procurement.
  • Experience overseeing environments with over 2000 servers across various field locations.
