Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Plant Maintenance Worker to join our team at the City of Waco. As a key member of our wastewater treatment team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment and components, performing preventive maintenance, and operating various wastewater treatment equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair mechanical equipment and components, and perform preventive maintenance as directed.
  • Operate various wastewater treatment equipment and machinery, including heavy equipment, forklifts, jetting equipment, lawnmowers, screens, dewatering equipment, lab equipment, hand and power tools, filters, mop, buffer, spray painter, grease gun, and various office equipment.
  • Follow safety precautions in all work performed, report problems and emergencies, and perform duties within the scope of authority and training.
  • Drive and operate vehicles to transport equipment to and from job sites, which requires a commercial driver's license.
  • Work in trenches or in a confined space to perform maintenance tasks.
Requirements
  • H.S. Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Texas Driver's License
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License + Tanker Endorsement (Required within 180 Days of Employment)
  • Collections Class I License From TCEQ (Required within 1 Year of Employment)
