Job Summary:

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) located on our 5th floor. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care to a diverse range of residents, from middle-aged adults to geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized care to patients with a wide range of needs, from those requiring minimal assistance with daily activities to those who rely completely on our care and support.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that promote patient independence and well-being.
  • Administer medications, perform wound care, and provide specialized care for conditions such as sepsis, post-orthopedic surgery recovery, and wound care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and develop strategies to address those needs.
  • Collaborate with physical, occupational, and speech therapists to provide comprehensive therapy services.
  • Participate in discharge planning processes to ensure successful transitions for patients returning home.

Requirements:

  • BLS or ACLS certification required, with ACLS certification to be achieved within 6 months of hire.
  • One year of nursing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 160 hours per year, with a requirement to work at least two shifts of at least eight hours in each calendar quarter.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
