Job Title: Finish Carpenter - Ship Channel, TX

Join Norrell Construction Management, Inc. as a Finish Carpenter in Ship Channel, TX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting and executing the safe, quality, and efficient completion of various tasks related to carpenter work being performed at a petrochemical processing plant, residential properties, and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Construct, repair, modify, disassemble wooden, concrete, metal structures/objects, etc.
  • Assemble and install structural elements such as walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, cabinetry, and fixtures, ensuring they are level, plumb, and secured.
  • Perform finish work, which may include installing trim, molding, baseboards, and other decorative elements.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years working as a Building & Remodeling carpenter or carpenter helper on an industrial construction project.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform duties.
  • Knowledge of materials, tools, and processes involved with basic building techniques and form construction.
  • Ability to computer basic arithmetic functions.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work a full work schedule and any additional overtime with little to no notification.

Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
  • Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
  • Will talk and hear to communicate.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate PPE.
