Nurse Manager Job Description

Frederick Villa Healthcare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to fill a leadership role in our skilled nursing facility. As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the clinical operations of the nursing units, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, practice standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Observe and monitor residents' health and assess their needs to provide quality care
  • Work with physicians to create individual care plans and assist them during required operations or procedures
  • Maintain complete healthcare records and reports, including PCC being utilized according to best practices
  • Supervise, manage, and assist in training LPNs and GNAs on staff
  • Perform routine procedures as needed, including administering medication and injections, and provide emergency medical care when necessary
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nursing in maintaining adequate staffing coverage
  • Assess work performance of nursing staff while on duty, ensuring timeliness in services to our patients/residents
  • Maintain security of the facility, creating an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the needs of our staff, patients, and their families
  • Monitor nursing care to reduce hospitalizations and ensure positive outcomes
  • Review prospective admissions in relation to existing nursing capabilities and ensure readiness to treat
  • Ensure that patients' attending physicians and family or responsible party are promptly notified of any significant change in the patient's health condition
  • Investigate patient/family complaints and take appropriate actions to bring to resolution

Requirements:

  • Current RN license in the state of Maryland
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • In-depth knowledge of nursing care methods and health and safety guidelines
  • Responsible and compassionate with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Experience supervising GNAs and LPNs in a nursing home setting
