Job Summary

The Registered Nurse demonstrates performance consistent with professional standards of practice, care, performance, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of the organization.

Manages patient care in the health care continuum to achieve optimum outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner. Demonstrates skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation and management of resources.

This is a surgery center job posting with no weekends/nights, holidays, or on-call expected.

Qualifications

The Staff RN will assist in documentation, providing supplies, prepping patient for surgery.

The Staff RN oversees CST's and Surgery Tech's and provides and documents care consistent with hospital, departmental, and unit policies/procedures/protocols.

The Staff RN honors individuals' right to privacy, dignity, respect, and confidentiality at all times.

The Staff RN collaborates with other members of the health team regarding patient care needs and responsibilities, and delegates, as appropriate.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Demonstrates knowledge and technical skill necessary for providing competent, comprehensive patient care.

Demonstrates leadership abilities including ability to give and follow instructions accurately.

Provides positive, professional role model for others.

Demonstrates ability to teach/instruct patients, families, and colleagues.

Clinical Practice

Implements the nursing process with all patients to whom assigned according to network standards, policy and procedure.

Provides safe patient centered, compassionate, competent care utilizing nursing process, founded in science, within the scope of practice for the Registered Nurse.

Models professional nursing ethical practice.

Demonstrates application of all facets of the nursing process:

Mandatory License/Registration/Certification

CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Certification/License

Registered Nurse (RN)

Additional Licensure/Credential Requirements

CNOR preferred.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current license as a registered nurse with the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau

At least 2 years of or experience required.

Additional Education and Experience Requirements

Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.

Participates in Basic Life Support training per American Heart Association or American Red Cross standards.
