Job Summary

The Basehor-Linwood Unified School District 458 is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. As an RBT, you will play a vital role in providing behavioral support services to students with additional needs in our classrooms, resource rooms, or self-contained classrooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the care, instruction, and supervision of students with additional needs.
  • Monitor student behavior and provide feedback to support their learning and development.
  • Assist with clerical tasks and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Implement behavioral and educational plans designed by the IEP team.
  • Provide support to certified staff in addressing personal care and restroom needs of students.
  • Collaborate with the RBT Supervisor and Teacher of Record to ensure effective implementation of student plans.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Pass background check.
  • Experience working with students with autism or students with intense behavioral needs.
  • Complete 40-hour training.
  • Complete initial competency assessment followed by passing the RBT exam.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in working with children and adolescents.
  • Collaborative, innovative, flexible, takes initiative, team player.
  • Ready to learn and contribute.
  • Available before/after school for continued supervision by RBT Supervisor.
Working Conditions

The RBT will work in a fast-paced educational environment, requiring flexibility regarding scheduling, working conditions, and location of work. The RBT will be expected to accommodate students with special needs to ensure class participation and assist students with aggressive and challenging behaviors.

Physical Requirements

The RBT must be physically and emotionally able to perform the required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.
