Job Title: Maintenance Worker/Senior

Join the City of West Sacramento's Public Works team as a Maintenance Worker/Senior and contribute to the maintenance and repair of the city's infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the proper maintenance and repair of City infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, storm drains, water mains, and sewer systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair City infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, storm drains, water mains, and sewer systems.
  • Perform construction and maintenance work in one or more specialized programs in our public works department.
  • Operate light and heavy-duty equipment, including backhoes, boom mowers, and front-end loaders.
  • Conduct traffic control and flagging in the city's rights-of-way.
  • Respond to emergency calls and customer requests.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in construction, utilities, and road maintenance or manual labor.
  • Must obtain a valid Class B California driver's license before the completion of the employment probationary period or six (6) months.
  • Possession of a commercial driver's license (CDL) with a tanker endorsement is preferred.
