Position Summary
The Health Insurance Collector plays a crucial role in managing the collection of outstanding receivables. This position involves diligent follow-up on accounts billed to various insurance providers, managed care organizations, government programs, and other responsible parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of accounts to assess patient eligibility for different coverage options.
- Analyze aged accounts to identify opportunities for appealing unpaid or underpaid claims.
- Perform additional related tasks as required to support the collections process.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Proven experience in healthcare claims processing and collections is essential.
- Familiarity with Managed Care Contracts and their interpretation is preferred.
- Knowledge of UBO4 or HCFA 1500 claims and their data elements is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic office skills and computer proficiency are required.
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM is expected.
Position Details
Working Title: Case Manager I
Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Position Type: Full-time; Non-exempt
Schedule: Alternative work week schedule - Mon-Thurs 7:30 am-5:00 pm & Fri 7:30 am-12:30 pm
Other: Assessment testing and background checks will be conducted post-offer.
