Job Overview

RAND is seeking a highly skilled China policy analyst to join our team of experts in national security and defense policy. As a China policy analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and advising on policy-level decisions related to China's security and defense policies, strategy, doctrine, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze China-related security and defense policies, strategy, doctrine, and operations
  • Develop and maintain expertise in China's military modernization, defense strategy, and security policies
  • Conduct research and analysis on China's defense industry, military capabilities, and security relationships
  • Provide policy recommendations to clients on China-related security and defense issues
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement research projects
Requirements
  • MA/MS in political science, international studies, strategic studies, public policy, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in security, defense, or intelligence policy planning and analysis
  • Advanced Mandarin reading skills
  • U.S. Citizenship required to obtain a security clearance
  • Active Secret or interim Secret clearance preferred
