Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at BAART Programs. As a Dispensing Nurse, you will play a crucial role in dispensing prescribed medications to patients as part of a treatment team in partnership with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals with substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer daily medication to patients in accordance with program policy and medical protocols.
  • Maintain dispensing equipment, manage medication inventory, and report patient treatment information.
  • Collaborate with supervisory counseling staff to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances.
  • Order, receive, and stock medication in accordance with DEA and State regulations.
  • Provide daily assessments of patients and assist in orienting new nursing staff.
Qualifications:

  • Current and good standing LPN/LVN license in the State of Vermont.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • EMR and computer proficiency desired.
  • Experience in chemical dependency preferred.
