The Audio and Media Technologies group at Apple is on the lookout for a seasoned software engineering manager to oversee our Streaming Media team. This team is responsible for developing the core technologies that enhance audio-visual experiences across Apple's ecosystem, including iPhones, iPads, Apple TV, Apple Watch, macOS, and Vision Pro.

Role Overview

As the Engineering Manager for Streaming Media, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading a dynamic team of engineers to innovate and develop new features in streaming media technology.
  2. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new functionalities.
  3. Encouraging innovation by pushing the limits of technical design and capabilities.
  4. Contributing to the overall architecture of media systems, including performance assessments and enhancements.
Required Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in software development, particularly in C or Objective-C.
  • Strong background in multi-threaded programming and synchronization techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of media processing pipelines.
  • Solid grasp of operating system principles.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving software issues through system profiling and network analysis.

Compensation and Benefits: At Apple, your base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. The salary range for this position is between $183,400 and $316,900, influenced by your skills, qualifications, and experience.

Employees have the opportunity to participate in Apple's stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and discounted stock purchases. Additional benefits include extensive medical and dental coverage, retirement plans, discounts on products and services, and educational reimbursement for career advancement. This role may also qualify for bonuses or commission payments.
