Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative I to join our team at Tidelands Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for registering patients, handling first call resolution, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients and obtain accurate demographic, financial, and medical information.
  • Handle first call resolution for assigned departments, transferring calls as necessary and making appointments as required.
  • Pre-register patients for procedures, verifying insurance and other necessary information.
  • Assist with making referrals and scheduling appointments for providers.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, including opening and distributing mail, and expediting paperwork related to patient care.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of related customer-facing experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Ability to interact successfully with the public and perform effectively in high-stress situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Ability to perform with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic medical terminology.
  • Call center, patient scheduling, and/or physician front-office experience.
Physical Requirements

This role requires frequent standing, sitting, and walking, as well as the ability to use hands and fingers to perform tasks. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
