Server Hardware Specialist

About the Role:

Sunrise Systems is currently seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technician to support both company-specific servers as well as data center buildouts at customer data centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in server hardware and physical network setup, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. This person will serve as a mentor and trainer to other Service technicians in the field, providing feedback and documentation on technical and non-technical processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hardware Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough investigations of hardware failures, utilizing controlled experiments and failure analysis to determine root causes.
  • Physical Network Setup: Design and implement physical network infrastructure, including cable management and switch setup.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Provide daily status updates and define and develop external and internal customer initiatives.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop SOPs, Knowledge articles, and guides, and conduct training sessions on new issues, resolutions, and technical processes.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
  • CompTIA Server+ or equivalent experience.
  • CCENT or equivalent experience.

What You'll Bring:

A strong background in server hardware and physical network setup, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to provide timely and accurate feedback to the Engineering teams.
