Job Summary

The Soft Demolition Foreman will oversee and coordinate field activities of demolition crews, ensuring safe and efficient project completion. Key responsibilities include planning work, determining techniques, training personnel in power demolition equipment operation, and reporting daily to management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage demolition crews to ensure timely and safe project completion.
  • Provide on-site supervision to clarify drawings and discrepancies, coordinate trade interfaces, and maintain quality standards.
  • Direct work crews and advise management of personnel not performing according to procedures, policies, and schedules.
  • Perform work to assist crews as needed and/or requested by management.
  • Become familiar with project specifications and peculiarities, offering practical advice on project schedules and budgets.
  • Review project progress, cost reports, schedules, and requirements for completion.
  • Determine and recommend changes in methods, schedules, procedures, and improvements on the project.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with management to ensure proper coordination of responsibility for the project.
  • Notify management of any subcontractor not performing according to specifications or schedule.
  • Submit daily paperwork and ensure proper paper flow of information from field to management regarding delivery commitments, field dimensions, reports, and any other necessary correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and other construction professionals to ensure smooth project completion.
  • Notify the Safety Manager of any hazardous work conditions or safety situations on worksites.
  • Ensure safety protocols are being followed daily and report and complete safety incident reports as needed.
  • Ensure all company policies and programs are fully enforced on the worksite, including Safety Program, IIPP, etiquette training, etc.
  • Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and stored at the end of each shift.
  • Coordinate and advise management/dispatch of equipment requirements and report to the Shop Manager of any equipment malfunctions.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained and maintain a neat and orderly jobsite and personal appearance.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, co-workers, and supervisors/managers.
  • Train and equip all crew members as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or demolition.
  • Must be able to pass a physical medical exam.
  • Must be able to communicate proficiently in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to demolition.
  • Must have a valid Driver License, reliable transportation, and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work long hours, including overtime, when needed.
  • Must be able to drive to multiple jobsites in different cities and counties, when needed.
Required Certifications
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Scissor Lift Training certification.
  • Fall prevention training certification.
  • Valid certificate in First Aid and CPR.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to spend vast majority of the day standing or walking around on jobsites.
  • Ability to travel and spend long periods of time in a vehicle.
  • Must be able to lift and handle 50 pounds of field equipment at times.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
