Job Summary

William Paterson University is seeking a highly qualified Head Softball Coach to lead its Division III softball program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, organizing, and administering a competitive intercollegiate softball program, cultivating student-athletes' skills and strategy, and executing practice organization and implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive softball program, including game strategy and practice organization.
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes, working collaboratively with the Office of Admissions and NCAA guidelines.
  • Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress, developing strategies for retention and success.
  • Coordinate game schedules, travel arrangements, and team budget management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with athletic administration, support staff, and softball alumni.
  • Conduct fundraising activities and devise communication strategies with softball alumni.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with university, NCAA, and NJAC policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Three or more years of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or club level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and coach student-athletes.
  • Proven track record of applying and instructing sport-specific skills, techniques, and strategies.
  • Successful completion of the NCAA Division III rules test.
  • Certification in CPR/AED.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and virtual communication tools.
