Position Overview
As a General Engineer within the Department of Defense, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of critical tasks that ensure the success of our engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide daily technical assistance to the IPU Product Manager, Chief Engineer, Program Manager, and Upper Tier Officers.
2. Facilitate System Requirement Reviews, Program Design Reviews, and Critical Design Reviews, along with First Article Inspections and Source Inspections.
3. Develop comprehensive production certification packages for legislative approval.
4. Contribute engineering insights to weekly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
5. Offer technical guidance to the IPU support team and synchronize engineering assistance for products within the designated sectors.
6. Ensure effective collaboration with other IP Product Offices through Engineering Technical Reviews, In Process Reviews, and Integrated Baseline Reviews.
7. Oversee Manufacturing and Failure Review Boards in accordance with the IP Joint SEP.
8. Manage and mitigate risks and technical challenges in partnership with domestic and international suppliers.
9. Track programmatic actions, including funding and contracts, to reduce risks associated with IPU efforts.
10. Review and provide input for Statements of Work and evaluate proposals.
11. Be prepared for travel, including international assignments, up to 30% of the time.

Employment Conditions:

- Certification as a Level Practitioner in Engineering and Technical Management is required within 60 months of entry into the position.
- Continuous Learning Points (80) must be obtained every 24 months.

Qualifications:
To qualify at the NH-04 level, candidates must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03/GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, demonstrating at least two of the following:
1. Experience in weapon systems development and testing, including technical design reviews and component/system level testing.
2. Proven leadership in managing diverse teams of contractors and government personnel in technical programs.
3. Familiarity with international programs, including relationship development with foreign partners and knowledge of international agreements and export regulations.

Experience may include both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work through National Service programs or other organizations. All qualifying experience will be credited, including volunteer work.
Education Requirements:
A degree in Engineering is required, with programs accredited by ABET or equivalent coursework in engineering sciences.
Additional qualifications may include professional registration, successful completion of specified academic courses, or related curriculum leading to a Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field.

Additional Information:
This announcement may be utilized to fill multiple vacancies. Selected candidates will be required to sign an agreement to remain in federal service for a minimum of three years in this critical acquisition position.
