Job Description

As a CNO Test Engineer at General Dynamics Information Technology, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of technical approaches for testing and evaluating new systems, products, and special devices. Your expertise in test engineering concepts and principles will be essential in preparing test and diagnostic programs, designing test fixtures and equipment, and completing specifications and procedures throughout the engineering development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the planning of technical approaches for testing and evaluating new systems, products, and special devices
  • Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and equipment, and complete specifications and procedures
  • Utilize expertise in test engineering concepts and principles to ensure effective testing and evaluation
  • Collaborate with teams of engineers to achieve project goals and objectives
Requirements
  • Proven experience in CNO domain
  • Testing of embedded software systems in Unix, Linux, or VxWorks environments
  • Experience working within teams of engineers as both a lead and a contributor
  • Ability to develop test procedures from requirements independently
  • Experience in developing test documentation, such as test plans and test reports
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Script writing using Perl, Python, Bourne shell, C shell, or other proprietary scripting languages
  • JIRA, Confluence, SVN

What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming, system processes, and scripting languages
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity
