Overview

We are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our legal department, reporting directly to the Associate Vice President & Deputy General Counsel. This role involves collaborating with various organizational levels to provide legal counsel both independently and in conjunction with other legal team members and external legal advisors. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. This position is based in our office.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc., has consolidated a portion of the highly skilled staff from both organizations in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team dedicated to serving clients. Hill-LiRo is a firm with a workforce of 1100, operating in multiple locations.

Responsibilities
  • Review, negotiate, and draft contracts across various business functions, including construction subcontractor agreements, professional services, supplier agreements, design and consulting agreements, joint venture and teaming agreements, NDAs, and other commercial contracts.
  • Analyze Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications for unfavorable terms.
  • Provide guidance on corporate compliance, company policies, practices, and reporting and licensing requirements.
  • Assess legal risks associated with design and construction projects.
  • Represent the company during hearings.
  • Conduct legal analysis of relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines affecting the company.
  • Deliver effective legal support and guidance to the company's business units as required.
  • Provide additional in-house legal services as necessary for a construction and design firm.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3-7 years of legal experience with a focus on commercial transactions, risk management, and compliance, preferably within the construction or design industry and public sector.
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting transactional due diligence, and ensuring MBE/WBE contract compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional research, interpretation, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
  • Broad experience in a wide range of legal issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or similar software applications.

Required License or Certification:

  • Bar admission in at least one state.

We offer a competitive salary based on experience, a comprehensive benefits package, and a positive work environment.

Compensation: Min: $120,000 - Max: $140,000. The range provided reflects the salary that the firm believes, in good faith, it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications and location.
