Key Responsibilities

As a Nutritional Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children receive healthy and balanced meals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Meal Planning: Create weekly menus that align with our nutritional standards.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare meals and snacks that cater to the dietary needs of young children.
  • Food Safety: Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation, including proper handling and storage practices.
  • Dietary Accommodations: Prepare alternative meals for children with allergies or specific dietary requirements.
  • Portion Control: Serve meals in appropriate sizes and monitor consumption to reduce waste.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with staff to coordinate meal schedules and address any dietary concerns.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of food supplies and inventory levels.
  • Feedback Solicitation: Gather input from staff regarding meal quality and make necessary adjustments.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Experience in a food service setting.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary guidelines for children.
  • Understanding of food safety regulations.
  • Ability to follow and adapt recipes as needed.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to modify menus based on feedback.
  • Current food handler's certification (preferred).
  • A passion for cooking and promoting healthy eating habits among children.
Physical Requirements

Candidates should be able to:

  • Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Handle kitchen equipment with manual dexterity.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
