Job Title: Childcare Center CookJob Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Childcare Center Cook to join our team at The Learning Experience #394. As a key member of our childcare team, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks to our young learners.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our children.
  • Develop weekly grocery lists and ensure that all food is stored and handled safely.
  • Accommodate children with food allergies or special dietary needs by preparing alternative meals when necessary.
  • Work closely with our childcare staff to coordinate meal schedules and communicate any relevant information regarding food preparation and allergies.
  • Monitor food inventory levels and solicit feedback from staff regarding meal quality and variety.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a food service environment.
  • Knowledge of nutrition principles and dietary guidelines for young children.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling and sanitation.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt them to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment and meet the demands of meal preparation for a large group of children.
