Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantees the accurate and timely execution of payroll for designated clients, encompassing new hires, separations, salary adjustments, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other payroll-related modifications.
  • Processes off-cycle payrolls as required.
  • Issues checks or direct deposits to rectify payroll discrepancies or upon final termination.
  • Reconciles payroll entries with the general ledger.
  • Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reconciliations against contracts, providing precise payout data for financial department evaluation.
  • Develops and maintains annual reconciliation records for all payrolls.
  • Reconciles quarterly tax filings for all federal, state, and local taxes across various jurisdictions.
  • Creates and maintains late hire calculation spreadsheets for clients.
  • Establishes payroll calendars for client use.
  • Prepares and maintains comprehensive records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour regulations.
  • Facilitates workers' compensation audits as necessary.
  • Reconciles W-2 forms.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxation.
  • Familiarity with multi-state compliance regulations.
  • Proficient in payroll software or capable of learning quickly and effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of five years of payroll experience, with at least one year in accounting or bookkeeping preferred.
  • Payroll certification is preferred or the ability to obtain it within one year.
