About This Opportunity

The Village Vets Avondale Estates is seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and supporting our veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery, and minor procedures.
  • Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner.
  • Obtain accurate vitals, medical histories, and note any changes in patient condition to veterinarians.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples, such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
  • Care and maintenance of medical equipment, including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and other essential tools.
  • Provide high-quality client communication on patient updates and questions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant, required.
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
